The days are getting longer so it’s time to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle in Béziers Méditerranée! Here are our top 5 things to do in spring!

1. Explore the great outdoors on our hikes!

Envie d’une pWant to reconnect with nature? Our hiking trails are yours for the taking so grab your walking shoes and backpack and let’s go!

There are four options if you want to ramble around our region! Set off from the Fonseranes 9 Locks and soak up all that Béziers has to offer as you walk along the Canal du Midi and Orb towpaths…

We have three other routes starting in Sérignan, Alignan-du-Vent and Villeneuve-lès-Béziers for wine lovers to drink in fabulous views of our vineyards and winemaking villages. Each route has its own “je ne sais quoi”!

2. Try one of our themed trails!

Do you want to try something different as you explore our destination? Our themed trails are just what you’re looking for! There are not one, not two, but five trails on our website so you can take your pick from which you fancy doing and where you fancy going!

They last between 1 and 2 hours and introduce you to people who have gone down in the history of Béziers, take you along the botanical trail or on the hunt for murals in central Béziers!

Where do you find them? Just visit our website and view each trail factsheet for all the information you need. Easy! Then you just have to follow the directions to reach the different stages and visit the attractions!

3. Head to the seaside!

The sun’s out so what better excuse for a trip to the seaside to recharge your batteries in the sea air! It’s impossible to choose between Valras-Plage and Sérignan so you’ll just have to visit both these slices of paradise!

Stop in Valras to explore its lovely fishing village and port before hitting its 4km of sandy beaches! Head over to Sérignan to get to grips with everything it has to offer… Stroll around the old town, visit the Collegiate Church and enjoy the shade on the promenade and in the little lanes! Last but not least, don’t forget to visit Sérignan-Plage!

Spend your day in the water or on the sand and just enjoy taking in the fabulous views that will soothe your soul and ease your mind!

4. Set off on a cycling adventure!

Spring is the perfect time for a bike ride because the sun’s out but it’s not too hot… saddle up!

Can’t decide which route to choose? Don’t worry, we’re here to help! Check out a selection of 11 routes to suit any ability! They cover 10-20km, range from easy to challenging and are suitable for serious cyclists, families on a leisurely outing or novices who want an easy ride!

Get away from it all and switch off from the world as you explore our myriad landscapes! Take your pick from a ride through the pine forests or our vineyards and winemaking villages. There “wheelie” is something for everyone!

5. Visit the Fonseranes 9 Locks and botanical trail!

If there’s a classic we never tire of, it’s the Fonseranes 9 Locks! Explore this unique site your way: on foot, by bike or on our treasure hunt! Don’t forget to stop to watch the boats go through the locks, it’s a unique show-stopper of a sight!

Hit the botanical trail and soak up the colours and aromas of the plants and shrubs that join you every step of the way! The footpath by the Visitor Centre is peppered with information panels about the plants making it an educational experience too. If you fancy it, there’s an audioguide tour for you to learn the secrets of the Canal du Midi and how the Fonseranes 9 Locks were built!
