Because the Canal du Midi has been irrigating the agricultural lands of Languedoc for over 350 years, it is a veritable botanical conservatory. A Mediterranean garden that Paul Riquet knew, sometimes planted: aromatic plants, shrubs, ornamental trees and fruit trees... Today the plane trees are disappearing, less known species are taking their place again, giving back to the work its original aspect
We invite you to explore the "Canal du Midi Botanique" along the 9 locks, on a path where perfumes and colours, shapes and medicinal virtues, and taste will take you on a journey through the senses... We have even concocted a "square of delights", to review your range of culinary herbs and spices.
